Decorate Antique White Sideboard

Jul 23rd

Antique white sideboard – Around the middle of the 20th century, households used the sideboards for storage in the kitchen to save space. A dresser can serve other purposes as well, such as the living room or bedroom. Anywhere you can use a little extra storage or need a decorative piece of furniture to dress up the room is a great place for an antique white sideboard.

Remove kick boards from the bottom of the cabinet with a saw. The furniture feet will hold up the cupboards instead. Place the cabinets directly against each other. Put two one-by-3-inch furring strips in between each pair of cabinets – one in front and one in back. Cut pieces of plywood to fit over the outer sides of the end cabinets.

Cut half-by-2-inch grid strips to fit over the distances between the cabinets. Install the metal footrests on the outer corners of the bottom of the cabinets. Turn your feet in place on the foot plates to give sideboard legs. Turn ladle upright so that it stands on legs.

Drill holes in the boxes where you put the pencil marks. Screw the drawer knobs in place. Nail a small block of wood in each cabinet behind the doors of the place where you want to install the print latch. Cut a piece of plywood to fit over the top of the cabinets. Sand the entire antique white sideboard with medium-grit sandpaper to help the paint adhere properly. Paint the ladle with color to match your room or a stain that goes well with your other furniture.
