Pears // Wildflowers Tape

Kevan Griffin makes a worthy video for a track thats very dear to me. Strange ladies in bikinis with mountains growing and shrinking to the beat.

Pears desrves so much more attention. Play his music at parties, make your friends listen to him. They will thank you for it.

Buy Pears’ new album Soft Plans from Amdiscs.

Pears // Wildflowers Tape

Brooklyn based Garry Morris is back as Pears with a fresh new album titled soft plans.

Extracting influences from his South African influences he creates lush, heartwarming tropical jams. Its as if he has taken every ounce of sun that he has ever absorbed and distilled it into these tracks.

Heavily sampled he masterfully weaves sounds together like perfectly matching puzzle pieces. It sounds as if it was performed with a large band with the sun beating down on them.

Soft plans is available as a digital release from our friends Amdiscs. I would really love to see some if his music pressed on the appropriate physical format: vinyl.

Follow Garry’s projects on his blog.

Teams // Nude Tilt

Sean Bowie a.k.a. Teams has been exploding about the Internet of late, releasing gold after gold. You will have seen his collaboration with Star Slinger as well as his sample gifted Catch Pool EP.

Amdiscs has just released We Have A Room With Everything, Teams’ latest creation. From what I can see it looks like a full length and is well worth the purchase. Its only 5 bucks, grab it here.

You can stream the album on his Bandcamp.

Teenage Reverb // Where Did The Summer Go (666)

Joseph Zucco has already stunned me with his crazy good Isolation Tape Night EP. He has somehow managed to release another super tight EP in a short amount of time. This one is called Summit and will be released on Amdsics. It should appear on their website soon. In the meantime stream it over at his Bandcamp.

Where Did The Summer Go is a darker track that gains a lot of strength from its crunchy synth bass line which punches along while out of control gargling samples are thrown underneath that synth arpeggio as Zucco’s faint howls are audible in the background.

Teenage Reverb is a young star already among bloggers. I’m super excited to see what he comes up with next.

Com Truise // Cyanide Sisters

Great new release by one of my fave new little labels Amdiscs. Com Truise’s Cyanide Sisters EP takes you on a trippy journey to the sinister murky waters that are the 80’s. Slow beats with a pretty crazy array of samples. You can chill out to these tunes, but I can’t help feeling the danger that hides behind the 80’s kitsch samples. I’m totally going to have this on repeat on foobar this weekend.

You can download the EP for free over yonder.
