Premiere | Coma Cinema // Desolation’s Plan

Mat Cothran has had an unfair supply of bad luck in the last few months.

Dusting himself off he transforms his frustration and despair into compact pieces of musical art which he will be releasing in his new album Blue Suicide.

Despite having been mastered, Desolation’s Plan maintains the humble lofi charm that Coma Cinema is well known for. Every time I listen to it I excitedly anticipate that initial Lou Reed style bass line and the subsequent quickly disappearing synth arpeggio. Because the track is so short, it will leave you hungry for more Coma Cinema, which you can temporarily dampen by listening to it 20 times on repeat.

Blue Suicide will be released on both Cassette and Vinyl format. Our friends over at Wonder Beard Tapes are covering the tape release, while Fork and Spoon are set to press it on vinyl. Follow him on his blog Summer Time In Hell to stay updated on the release.

Thanks Mat.

Coma Cinema // Blissed

Tyler T. Willaims has yet again crafted an absolute stunner of a video, this time  for Coma Cinema’s Blissed off his album Stoned Alone.

Crisp tranquil images are interrupted by harsh splashes of violence depicting a man’s struggle with his inner pain. It concludes with spine tingling slow motion images of him submerging himself in a river.

I had ordered Stoned Alone from Arcade Sound Ltd. when it was first released, however Arcade Sound decided not to make the tape. They have made the hearts of many fans sink, and robbed them of their money. I would not advise buying anything through them, ever.

You can however download Stoned Alone for free from his Label Summer Time In Hell. It ranks as one of my favourite releases of 2010. Coma Cinema will be releasing their newest album Blue Suicide on Cassette and Vinyl (obviously not through Arcade Sound).

Persona La Ave feat. Rachel Levy // Willcave

Dylan Dawkins (Persona La Ave) and Rachel levy (Kiss Kiss Fantastic) bless our ears yet again with another collaboration that comes from deep within a cool damp cave.

Download the single off Amdiscsreleases page or just click right here.

Also make sure to grab yourself the digital release of Kiss Kiss Fantastic’s EP over here.

Kiss Kiss Fantastic // Sorry Little Raindrop

I’m posting this stunning Kiss Kiss Fantastic track to celebrate the release of their EP titled The Red/Blue shift.

Sorry, Little Raindrop is the closing track of their EP and is as soft as the name suggests. The tape hiss in this one creates a warm fuzzy blanket that wraps around the delicate guitar strumming and Jeremy and Rachel’s melancholy vocals.

You can grab The Red/Blue Shift it off Summer Time In Hell for free! I can’t tell you how much I love this label. I’m really hanging out for that Persona La Ave release.

Coma Cinema // In Lieu Of Flowers

I really enjoyed this video made by Jon Casey. Its got some really chilled out skateboarding footage.

The track is off Coma Cinema’s outstanding album Stoned Alone. It ranks as one of my favourite albums of 2010 so far. You can download the album for free from Summer Time In Hell.
